Dr. Internet – The doctor that mothers trust

Within families mainly mothers take care of health issues. In addition to their regular doctor, mothers also get information and advice from the internet. 69 per cent of US mothers search online before even seeing a doctor. These were results of a survey carried out by BabyCenter between 2009 and 2011.

Today doctors have increasingly less time for a detailed consultation and so 84 per cent of the mothers feel better informed about healthcare through  help the internet provides. 82 per cent seek a second opinion from Dr. Internet.

Since 1997 the online platform BabyCenter provides advice on parenthood and children and belongs to the most important sources of information for mothers.
