This is a family marketing idea that we like: In order to minimize the stress of consumers during the festive season, Duo schreib & spiel, an association of specialised retailers,  presents a new shopping idea. From 13 November to 6th December Duo will put up billboards with QR codes in busy train stations. Under the motto “Buy on the fly”, the poster shows 20 selected toys as gift recommendations for Christmas.

About 40 large posters will go up at stations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Potsdam and the participating Duo stores. Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts around the clock in passing or while waiting for the train.

The QR codes shown lead to, a retail marketplace offering only Duo shops. Here the consumer will find all information about the product and competitive price, it is the closest duo-shop displays.

The products can be purchased with a few clicks using a smartphone and delivered to the consumer’s home. If the buyer wants to make sure that all gifts arrive in time for Christmas Eve, they can pick up the presents a few hours already at the nearest Duo shop.

Chrismas shopping becomes faster, easier and without the time pressure of opening hours. Consumers will benefit from the extra service through Duo, because, if there is a complaint, the shop is just around the corner.

By the way: Those who look closely at the poster of this marketing campaign will see that it contains branded QR codes. The integration of the Duo logo gives the code a distinctive appearance and lets it stand out from the mass of adverts messages. Additionally, it is also possible to develop a custom colour or special design features, so that the code corresponds entirely to the corporate design. Thus, an even closer connection with the company and the new mobile technology is created, with a corresponding image improvement and increased trust from the mobile generation – after all, a smartphone is a personal device and customers are increasingly becoming more selective as to who they choose to interact with. Griffiths Consulting offers logo and design codes as well as related tracking and analysis.
